Hi there our content creator friends! You may have noticed that we've been making a couple of updates and changes to the platform recently to improve your Lurkit experience.
One of those updates arrived today and as part of it (28 July, 2025), we’re retiring Lurk-coins, our in-house currency.
We originally introduced Lurk-coins to give creators a way to earn and spend on various items. However over time, the feature didn’t gain the traction we’d hoped for, and as you may have noticed, the online shop has been empty for a while.
However, the existence of the shop and the currency created lots of confusion, especially for new coming creators. Therefore, to avoid confusion, we’ve decided to remove both Lurk-coins and the shop from the platform entirely. We have no plans in the near future to bring it back, but we're holding onto the data —meaning we know how many Lurk-coins each creator has— and in case Lurk-coins make a come back (not making any promises), those who have earned the coins won't have to start from zero.
