Hello creators,

We’re reaching out from the Creator Experience team at Lurkit with some important updates regarding recent platform changes. We’ve heard your concerns and want to take a moment to provide clarity around creator bans and why certain policies are being reinforced.

First and foremost we want to clear up a big misconception: No AI is used — and will not be used — in our moderation and suspension processes. We firmly believe in the importance of human context and empathy when evaluating creator activity. Every decision, especially those involving suspensions, is handled by trained staff members who take your full history and intent into account.

These changes to our terms of service for creators are not made lightly. Misuse of the Lurkit platform affects everyone — both creators and brand partners — and our goal is to protect the integrity of the platform while ensuring fair opportunities for all creators. Here’s what you need to know:

🚫 Key request spamming

Key request spamming refers to excessively requesting game keys without the intent to create meaningful content.

At Lurkit, we aim to support creators and give room to grow. However, we've seen instances of misuse where keys are requested in high volumes with little to no content produced in return. To maintain fairness:

  • We ask that creators only request keys for games they genuinely intend to cover — ideally titles that align with their content and audience.
  • A member of our team will personally review key requests to assess fit and intent.
  • Accounts repeatedly requesting keys with little or no relevant content may face suspension.

Additionally, we are conducting daily audits on content submission rates based on the past three months of activity. These reviews are performed by real people and will take into account:

  • Historical contribution to the platform
  • Content and production quality (not performance metrics)
  • Reasonable delays for high-production content

We understand that life can get in the way. Our goal is not to punish creators for occasional delays, but to maintain trust across the platform. That said, repeated key spamming is a bannable offense, and we encourage all creators to be selective and realistic about their key requests.

📹 Content submission guidelines

When submitting content to Lurkit, creators are expected to follow both our platform content standards and the specific brief outlined in the brand’s mission. We’d like to clarify some common issues:

1. Content without additive innovation.
Submissions must be transformative. Content that lacks commentary or original contribution does not meet the platform's standards and will be rejected. Repeated offenses can lead to permanent suspension off the platform.

2. Off-brief or irrelevant content
Content should align with the mission guidelines:

  • Promotional assets provided by the brand can be included but should not form the entirety of the content unless specified by the brand you're collaborating with.
  • Submitting someone else’s content is strictly prohibited.
  • For DLC campaigns, ensure your coverage highlights the DLC itself — not just base game footage or early tutorial content.

If you’re unable to meet the creative brief, we ask that you do not apply for that particular opportunity.

📈 Artificial viewership and follower boosting

Artificial boosting refers to using bots, embeds, lurks or similar tactics to falsely increase viewership or followers. This is the most frequent reason for bans on Lurkit, and we want to be absolutely clear on what’s not allowed:

  • Botting followers or views: This results in an immediate ban.
  • Embedding: This feature is often used to inflate viewership through deceptive, low-engagement tactics and many third-party boosting services use embedding as an additional layer to legitimize their botting activities or keep it in the gray zone. No form of embedded viewership is acceptable on Lurkit and it will lead to suspension of your account if detected. There are other uses Lurkit doesn't recognize as fair play such as but not limited to:
    • Auto-playing muted streams in hidden or tiny windows
    • Embedding a stream on high-traffic pages where people aren't actually watching
    • Tricking people into "watching" without knowing (e.g., a stream playing behind a banner or background)
  • Twitch teams that boost viewership with AFK/Lurk viewers: This is another popular form of boosting viewership with artificial means and is not accepted by Lurkit. These teams don't provide actual viewers to your channels, only boost the viewer number.
  • Third-party software and extensions: If you opt to boost your viewership through a third-party software and/or use their browser extension, we'll immediately suspend your account.
  • Raid groups or paid raid services that artificially inflate viewership: These are considered manipulation and are bannable. For clarity, we don't suspend creators just because they've gotten raided, but for organized raids that carry AFK/lurking viewers on a scheduled basis to manipulate a channel's viewership.
  • Running paid ads (e.g., Google Ads, TikTok Spark) for submitted content is not allowed unless explicitly approved by the brand. These inflate metrics and misrepresent engagement.

If your account is targeted by bots (e.g., a view-botting attack), we understand the difference between intentional misuse and external attacks. Our moderation team can identify these cases and will not penalize you. We recommend reporting such activity to both us and the respective platforms (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok) for your protection.

💬 Final Thoughts

These changes are designed to protect the community and uphold the value of every opportunity on Lurkit. We’re here to support creators, not penalize them, but maintaining trust and transparency is essential for the long-term success of both creators and our partners.

We want to reiterate: your account and your content are never judged by AI. Real people are behind these decisions — and we are rooting for your success.

Thank you for your understanding and continued contributions to the platform. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Creator Experience team.

Warm regards, The Lurkit Creator Experience Team
